When Letting Out a Property
It is advised that a property owner should not discriminate tenants because of their age, disability, race, or sex. It is a property owner’s responsibility to make sure that the property will not pose any threat to the tenant(s) health and safety.
A landlord will need to have his property repaired, which includes heating and hot water installations, sinks, baths, and the like. A safety and maintenance check of gas and electrical appliances will also have to be done regularly. This is because a failure to do so can cause illnesses and even death to people. All of these and many other maintenance routine will need to be done regularly to ensure the property is fit for habitation. Therefore, it needs to meet and even exceed housing standards so people will safe and secure staying in the property.
